Bavaria Yachts of Germany has been revamping their entire cruising line, and this year is launching two boats under 40 feet that will premier at the fall shows, the Bavaria 33 and the Bavaria 39. Like others in the new cruising line, the 33 and 39 were designed by J&J Design as coastal cruisers with offshore capabilities, evidenced by their Kevlar-reinforced bow sections.

The 39 replaces the 38 and carries an additional foot of mast height for an increase of 100 square feet in sail area for an SA/D of 18. With the beam moved slightly aft and a fuller forefoot in the bow section, these new models feature a larger interior with three cabins and two heads standard on the 39 and two double cabins sharing one head on the 33. Bavaria has focused on keeping the interior light and spacious with increased skylights and hatches, fixed hull ports and lighter mahogany
