Designed around its creature comforts as much as on-the-water performance, the aluminum Kanter Bougainvillea 65 delivers luxurious living in a Chuck Paine–designed package. Since the owners planned to spend much time on the dock, the large cockpit was designed to emulate a porch by eliminating the traditional sunken footwell. The large pilothouse with its surrounding windows and plush settees well suits entertaining guests. To make it easier on the helmsman, the twin wheels are positioned so that one can see forward along the side of the truly superstructure.
The interior is fully air-conditioned with two guest staterooms forward, a dinette for four, sea-kindly galley, luxurious master stateroom taking up the whole aft section, and powering it all, a 185 horsepower Caterpillar diesel housed in a true engine room boasting standing room.
