Marion-Bermuda Race Won by Valiant 40

The 2019 edition of the biennial cruisers’ race to Bermuda from Marion, MA, is in the books and  the results are in. The overall winner on corrected time and the winner of Class D is the Valiant 40 Cordelia sailed by Roy and Gail Greenwald. Cordelia competed under the “Celestial” designation, meaning that the boat navigated using only celestial navigation and onboard dead reckoning. By choosing this classic navigation technique, the Greenwalds earned a time advantage that was factored into their elapsed time. For winning the 2019 event, the Geenwalds win the Goslings Founder’s Trophy and Gail Greenwald, navigator, wins the Navigator’s Trophy.
