What is an MMSI number and where in the U.S. do you go to get it?

Send your answers to george@bwsailing.com. A winner will be drawn from the correct answers and will win a subscription to the digital version of Blue Water Sailing.

Thanks to all readers who submitted correct answers to last week’s question on having a hygrometer on a cruising boat. Gene Sciarro, Penasacola, FL emailed, “A hygrometer measures the humidity in the local air stream. A rise in humidity can predict a local squall. A fall in humidity can predict a frontal change and a passing front. It’s all about totally local weather awareness.”
