Thanks to last week’s winner, Alice Bell, for the correct answer to the question: What is ‘dipping the eye’?
Here is Alice’s description. Dipping the eye is when you need to share a piling with another boat that has docked before you, slip the eye of your own dock line through the eye of the other boat. When it’s time to leave the dock, you pull your eye over the top of the piling and back down through the other boaters’ dock line eye. See diagram on right.
