Here are some photos from the Sail-In Parade marking the beginning of the SAIL Amsterdam 2015 maritime festival held in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
SAIl Amsterdam is held every five years and celebrates the Netherlands’ maritime and nautical heritage. The opening Sail-In Parade draws some 600 vessels, including several famous tall ships, from around the world as they navigate along the North Sea Canal before mooring in and around the IJhaven in Amsterdam. The event has grown to become the largest public event in the Netherlands and the largest free nautical event in the world, according to the event organizers.
This year marks the ninth edition of SAIL Amsterdam, taking place from 19 to 23 August. Read More and watch an incredible time lapse video of the parade in the Video of the Week section.
