The charter scene in the Abacos is down for a least a year. Yet, the southern Islands of Nassau and the Exumas were spared by the hurricane and charter fleets are rapidly moving boats there for their Bahamas sailing customers.\u00a0 Sunsail now has a new base in Nassau where they have a good fleet of catamarans ready for charter. rom, their base you can spend a week of more cruising southward to some of the prettiest and least developed islands anywhere.Many world cruisers count the Exumas are a rare and special cruising ground. There are not many restaurants or beach bars, but there are some and these are uniquely Bahamian. Plus you won&#8217;t want to miss meeting the swimming pigs at Big Major&#8217;s Cay. The snorkeling is wonderful and the Exuma Land and Sea Park is home to amazing above and below the water wildlife species.
