{"id":3815,"date":"2012-06-25T01:46:56","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T04:46:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bwsailing.com\/news\/?p=690"},"modified":"2012-06-25T01:46:56","modified_gmt":"2012-06-25T04:46:56","slug":"round-the-world-race-yacht-diverts-to-st-johns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bwsailing.com\/bw\/round-the-world-race-yacht-diverts-to-st-johns\/","title":{"rendered":"Round the World Race Yacht Diverts to St. John&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A yacht in the Clipper Round the World race has set sail for St. John&#8217;s after a<a href=\"http:\/\/bwsailing.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/quingdao1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-692\" title=\"quingdao\" src=\"http:\/\/bwsailing.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/quingdao1-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a> crew member was hurt.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Qingdao<\/em> was one of ten boats competing in the Clipper 11-12 Round the World race. \u00a0It pulled out of the event Thursday after a woman, 60, was injured. \u00a0The 21-meter boat was east of the Grand Banks at the time.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Forces Joint Rescue Co-ordination Center in Halifax was contacted. \u00a0\u201cWe&#8217;re monitoring it, but there is a doctor onboard and the doctor is saying the patient does not need to be airlifted, so we&#8217;re just following them,\u201d said JRCC spokesperson Geri Grychowski.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Qingdao<\/em> is expected to arrive in St. John&#8217;s on Saturday.
