A sailboat lost its mast and had to be towed away after crashing into the USS Midway Museum on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Someone on the 38-foot vessel as well as a number of witnesses called 911 to report the collision about 2:15 p.m.
Harbor Police officials who investigated the crash said it appeared the boat, called the Sea Esta, got caught on some netting near the top of the old aircraft carrier, which is now a maritime museum. Read More
