42-Foot Albatross Suffers Mechanical Failure on Way to Tahiti From New Zealand, Rescued by NZ Air Force

(Stuff) – A Norwegian sailor sent off a distress signal when he was 1,700 miles east northeast of New Zealand on his way to Tahiti. The Air Force was able to pinpoint his location and contacted a cargo ship approximately 100 miles from the stricken vessel. The cargo ship agreed to rescue the sailor from his boat. Read More
