Yacht Sinks Off Western Australia, Five Onboard Rescued

(ABC.net.au) – A yacht struck a reef off Jurien Bay, a coastal town in Western Australia forcing five people into the water. Three adults were rescued after about two-and-a-half hours after one of the EPIRBs attached to one of the sailors was activated. The owner of the boat and his 11-year old daughter had been in the cockpit and were thrown overboard when a breaking wave came over them. Jurien Bay Marine Rescue rescued the pair about five nautical miles from the wrecked vessel as the father tried to get his daughter to shore. Read More
