One of the Most Remote Places on Earth

(How Stuff Works) – In 1789, several sailors led by Fletcher Christian seized control of the HMS Bounty, then set Capt. William Bligh and his supporters adrift in the South Pacific sea. The sailors eventually made their way to a deserted volcanic island, 1,350 miles southeast of Tahiti. Today their descendants still live on Pitcairn Island, some 50 people strong. Read More
