62-Foot Trimaran, Lakota, Attacked Off the Coast of Hodeida, Yemen

(newsobserver.com) – Last week a Hong Kong-flagged trimaran was fired upon off war-torn Yemen. The boat was recently purchased by French racer Philippe Poupon and was being sailed from the Phillipines to the Mediterranean when three ships chased the vessel. The militants fired 20 warning shots and displayed rocket-propelled launchers. European Union naval forces were in the area and were able to dispatch a helicopter to the Lakota. Read More
