When we launched Cruising Compass 17 years ago, we were only the second e-newsletter published in the sailing market. Sailing Scuttlebutt was first. Over the years we have seen the subscriber base grow steadily and now, with this 900th issue, we are delivering Cruising Compass to more than 32,000 opt-in readers every Thursday. Most readers live and cruising in North America but we have loyal followers all over the world. Every week hundreds of readers test their knowledge by answering the Mindbender and hundreds more take the time to fill out the weekly Survey, which allows us to share your experiences, knowledge and preferences with the whole readership. I learn something new every week. All of this is made possible by our advertisers who tell us regularly that they appreciate and benefit from their weekly engagement with you, the cruising community. For 2024, we will be adding some new and interesting features for both you the readers and for our advertisers that will enhance the whole Cruising Compass experience. Seventeen years seems like a long time, but it has flown by and Sandy Parks, who edits and lays out CC every week, and I look forward to many more. Here’s to fair winds and following seas.
