Team Oracle Hires Airbus To Build Flying Yacht

To defend sailing’s oldest trophy, billionaire Larry Ellison’s Oracle Team USA is enlisting help from European planemaker Airbus Group SE. The pairing isn’t as unlikely as it might seem. The catamarans facing off at a preliminary round of the America’s Cup in Chicago, IL use hydrofoils to lift their hulls out of the water and fly along at more than 50 miles per hour.
