Many thanks to everyone who took the time to answer last week’s survey on cleaning your engine’s head exchanger. Of those who replied, 43% do flush their heat exchangers and most do so with fresh water alone. But, several said they fliush with Barnacle Buster and or a 50% solution of calcium-lime remover. Asked about annually cleaning the exchanger manually, 38% said they do and use a wood dowel or a narrow, stiff bristle brush.
