Dipping the eye is when you need to share a piling with another boat that has docked before you, slip the eye of your own dock line through the eye of the other boat.\u00a0 When it&#8217;s time to leave the dock, you pull your eye over the top of the piling and back down through the other boaters&#8217; dock line eye.
