It is the\u00a0boat they have been refitting for\u00a0the past nine months ahead of a\u00a0\u201cfour-or-five-year\u201d circumnavigation.<\/p>\n<p>They are surprised in part because the long, expensive fit-out work is finally drawing to a close (although there are winch bits on the saloon table and air-con ducting protruding from the paneling). But also surprised to be taking off for such an ambitious trip by themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve chartered all our lives,\u201d Richard says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwelve hours is our longest passage \u2013 we\u2019ve just been playing at sailing.\u201d Roz chimes in. \u201cWe\u2019re not yachties, we\u2019re waterbabies\u2026 diving is our thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re both day skippers, and have done a flurry of sea survival and medical courses recently, but Roz admits that she\u2019s not too hot on the technical side of sailing.
