The winner this week is Nick Bigney, Dallas, Texas who emailed: “Earnest Shackleton may have encountered some furious katabatic<\/span>\u00a0winds<\/span> which will rip down a valley or canyon into a harbor.\u00a0 They will knock a boat flat if the boat is responding to current and may be hit crosswise as they lay in a harbor.\u00a0 Boats may encounter Williwaws as they anchor in far southern harbors preparatory to traversing Cape Horn.”<\/p>\n
