The Yacht Northabout Completes Northeast and Northwest Passages in a Single Season

The yacht Northabout left Bristol, United Kingdom, in June and circled the North Pole in an anticlockwise direction. Its exit from Canada’s Lancaster Sound signaled the successful navigation of both sea routes. David Hempleman-Adams initiated the project to highlight Arctic sea-ice decline.
