A pop musician who is alleged to be the ringleader of a drug importation syndicate has had fresh charges laid against him as he undergoes trial for importing cocaine.
Newcastle musician Kent Anthony Jackson, 63, faced the Newcastle Magistrates Court last week where his solicitor told the court he intended on pleading guilty to the charge of ‘importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug’.
Mr Jackson is a well known bass player for new wave pop band The Eighty Eights that was most known in the 1980s.
