Drug Deal Gone Wrong

(my sailing au) – While on patrol in April, 2019 the Coast Guard came across the sailboat Mandalay traveling north 225 miles off Newport, OR in international waters. The Coast Guard initiated contact via VHF radio and after boarding the sailor’s condition began to deteriorate and showed signs of a possible drug overdose. The boat was discovered to have drugs onboard what became the largest known maritime seizure by the Coast Guard off the Oregon coast. Last week the sailor was sentenced to prison. Read More
