(New York Times) – Juan Manuel Ballestero was on the island of Porto Santo in the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira in the North Atlantic. He was anxious to get home to Argentina to see his 90-year old father but the Coronavirus had shut down all flights. So in mid-March he loaded his Ohlson 29 sailboat, Skua, with supplies and sailed solo across the Atlantic.
