Congratulations to Teddy Daniels, Sarasota, FL, who correctly identified where and how you use a “twing” in a sailing rig. “Twings are trimming lines mostly used to adjust the angle of the sheet forward and thus tighten the leach on a downwind sail in order to sail closer to the wind. But twings can also be used on jib sheets to haul the clew inboard so you can close the slot between the jib and the mainsail in light winds.”
