Congratulations to Val Shorter, s/v Caterwaul, Bocas del Toro, Panama who correctly answered last week’s question on how to use a monkey fist. ” A monkey fist is a knot in the end of a light line that is heavy enough to let you throw the line a good distance. The light line is used to feed a heavier mooring or towing line to another boat or someone on dock. We use monkey fists every day in the Panama Canals.”
