Mud Volcano Erupts in Caspian Sea

(Cnet) – Water heated deep within the earth and mixed with rocks and minerals can create a slurry that can erupt as a ‘mud volcano’. This occurred earlier this month in the Caspian Sea, south the Azerbaijani capita, Baku. The eruption took place about 6 miles from a gas field but none of the oil platforms were impacted and there were no injuries. Read More
