Question of the Week 0

Survey Question of the Week

By George Day · On October 5, 2021

Before reading on, please take a moment to answer this week’s Survey Question.

Do you have a pump to remove crankcase oil when changing the oil in your marine engine?

Many thanks for all who answered last week’s Survey on the produce that will last the longest for an extended offshore passage.  In order of popularity:  Potatoes, Cabbage, acorn and butternut squash, eggs, apples, citrus, onions, carrots, beets, garlic,  celery and leeks.

One veteran passagemaker wrote: “Potatoes, onions, apples, oranges, limes in that order. If you include refrigerating items then include: beets, avocados, bell peppers, tomatoes, lettuce (I place in Tupperware with a paper towel to soak up moisture and I get 2-3 weeks).”
