What are GRIB files and how do you use them?

Send your answers to cruisingcompass@bwsailing.com. A winner will be drawn from the correct answers and will win a subscription to the digital version of Blue Water Sailing.

Congratulations to Sue Van Horne, Bellingham, WA, who correctly answered last week’s question. “You use the  main traveler to de-power the sail as a puff hits by easing it to leeward. This helps to keep the boat from heeling too much, helps keep the rudder balanced and prevents the possibility of rounding up into the puff. “
