The 2022 edition of the Golden Globe Race began last month from France, a solo, around the world race. This past weekend American Guy deBoer on Spirit, a Tashiba 36 ran aground at night on the north coast of Las Palmas in the Canaries. deBoer was able to abandon his yacht on foot, assisted by first responders and they are now working on salvaging the vessel with the least amount of environmental impact.
