Transient Vessels and Anchoring Rules in Florida

Florida has nearly one million registered boats, representing 8% of the 12 million recreational boats registered in the U.S. Along with these boats add in the transients that visit each year and the result is that Florida has the most derelict, at-risk, and abandoned boats by state. Broward County, FL. approved an ordinance in November that establishes anchoring limitations specific to North and South Lakes in Hollywood, about 10 miles south of Fort Lauderdale.
