The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water offers free online boating safety courses. 36 states offer a certificate of boating safety education that is recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard. The course covers state and federal reguations on how to operate your boat safely and legally, including rules of the road, boating etiquette, required safety epuipment and more.
