For UV protection, do you wear sunscreen when on the water?
Many thanks to all readers who took the time to fill out last week’s survey on the use of PFDs on our boats. We got a huge response, plus the emails above in Up Front. Not surprisingly, 95% of readers do wear PFDS when sailing. But not all the time. 63% wear on in rough conditions, 58% at night, 47% when on watch alone, 39% wear them all the time, 36% when going forward on deck, and 28% when changing sails. 77% of readers have PFDs with harnesses which means that 23% do not.
