The Weakening Gulf Stream as Seen in the Florida Straits

(sciencealert.com) – Researchers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institue, Massachusetts and the University of Miami have looked at four decades of data from the Florida Straits and have found “conclusive, unambiguous observational evidence” of a slowing of the Gulf Stream transport. They note that this is the most definitive evidence of the weakening of the climatically-relevant ocean current. Read more.
