Jeanneau has a way of building popular models that just keep going on and on with new buyers showing up long past the model’s intended end date. That happened with the Sun Odyssey 452, one of which I happened to own, that ended up going into a Mark II version and then selling for several years after the model was supposed to be extinct.
So, it is with the Sun Odyssey 410 which has proven to be an incredibly durable and popular Mark Lombard design. So, what is a builder supposed to do with a model that won’t go away? Well, it is time for a complete upgrade and a new interior. Thus, the creation of the Sun Odyssey 415 based on the 410’s hull.
Jeanneau is known for innovation, such as the development of the walk-around side decks that keep you from having to climb over the coaming to get to the side decks. In the new 415, they have focused on the interior in the boat’s reimagining.

The interior is still the classic three-cabin, two head design that make models like the 452 so popular. The interior has been given a new L-shaped galley at the foot of the companionway ladder where it is convenient to the cockpit and has good air circulation. Forward of the galley is the new U-shaped dinette that will seat four easily and five in a pinch.
Across from the dinette is the new two-person chart table or command center where you have access to all systems and the electrical panel. Although the primary chart plotter will be in the cockpit, a second MFD could be mounted here. The chart table doubles as a place to play cards or Srcabble with your mate.
The 415’s décor has been brightened with the use of white overheads, white cabinets and light-colored Oak-style Alpi wood veneers. The space looks much larger than the 410’s and has a simple yet classic style.
The 415v is a Swiss Army knife of a cruiser because it can be built with one of three distinct keel designs, a deep fin, a shallow fin and bulb and an articulated drop keel for ultimate thin-water gunkholing.
Jeanneau is introducing the 415 at the introductory price of about $250,000. Well equipped, it will run at close to $300,000.
