Aquila to Introduce New 50 Sailing Catamaran at Miami International Boat Show

By George Day · On January 7, 2026

Aquila Catamarans is the largest builder of cruising power cats in the world and has a well-earned reputation for innovation and quality. Their designs are distinctive and leed the way in the evolution to huge angular side glazing and aggressive-looking cabin and bridge design.

With roughly three-quarters of all new sailboats sold in the last thre years being catamarans, it is no surprise that Aquila is making a move into that side of the market. They have three new sailing cats in the works. The new 50 will be the first to launch at the Miami Boat Show in February followed by 44 and 63 footers in 2026 and 2027.

The new 50 has a streamlined appearance with full hulls and an attractive curved cabin top. The foredeck is a full-width platform for sunning and entertaining. The cockpit is also a large social area with easy access to the water. Up top, the flybridge is the helm and upper lounge area and is covered by a rigid T-top. The 50 can be built with either private owner or charter fleet accommodation plans.
