Group Looks to Send At-Risk Youth to Sail High Seas

The Piscataqua Maritime Commission, based in Portsmouth, NH, will again partner with Seacoast Youth Services next summer to send local youth out to sea for the 2015 Sea Challenge.

This program marks the third year PMC has partnered with Seacoast Youth Services to offer at-risk youth from all throughout the New Hampshire and Maine Seacoast a chance to partake in the one-of-a-kind educational experience.

The partnership, as well as several key supporters, has helped send more than 120 kids sailing the high seas for a weeklong, life-changing experience. Teens, ages 14 to 17, most of whom have never been on a boat, learn to become crew members and master the handling of a sailing vessel in all kinds of weather. Read More
