Fire Sinks 2 Boats at Marina in Rhode Island

Two vessels sank and a sailboat belonging to the family of an America’s Cup winning Rhode Island maritime industry pioneer burned Monday morning in a fire that threatened millions of dollars worth of exclusive yachts. Firefighters rushed to The Hinckley Company’s Melville Marina District shipyard shortly before 5 a.m. on Monday September 14, to find the Serengeti, a 60-foot ocean-racing sailboat docked there, fully engulfed in flames, according to Portsmouth Fire Chief Michael Cranson. Read More
