Heavy Weather Causes Capsize and Damage to Transat Jacques Vabre Fleet

The opening 48 hours of the Transat Jacques Vabre race has seen one capsize, two retirements and two damaged yachts. It’s been an eventful first few days for the Transat Jacques Vabre fleet with two of the new foiling IMOCA 60’s out of the race already. While the teams left Le Havre, France in light airs, the next day brought gusts of over 40 knots with many big squalls and big pyramidal waves from the south in a SW then NW wind.
