French solo sailor François Gabart has set a new record for the outright 24 hour speed record in his 100ft trimaran MACIF. His shore team announced today that, subject to official ratification, the new record stands at an incredible 771 miles. It was set by Gabart, the 33-year-old who won the 2012/3 Vendée Globe solo round the world race, during his second night on passage from New York to Brittany. Read More
