Coast Guard Searches for Missing Woman After Catamaran Capsizes in the Florida Straits

The Coast Guard was searching Monday for a woman who went missing after her catamaran capsized in the Florida Straits, about 30 miles west of Cay Sal, Bahamas. Isabella Hellman was last seen aboard the 37-foot catamaran, Surf into Summer, about 8 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017.

According to the Coast Guard, watch standers received an alert at about 1:30 a.m. from the catamaran. At the same time, the boat’s owner, Lewis Bennett, reported the vessel was taking on water after hitting an unknown object. Read More
