The winner of last week’s Minbender  in Dan Perkins of Long Lake, MN who correctly explained that doubling the angle on the bow is a type of running fix.  The distance from the second bearing observation point to the observed object is equal to the distance run between the two bearings.  This lets you chart the location of the second bearing observation point.
