Good News, Bad News: Sharks and Seals on Cape Cod

(Cape Cod Times) – As the above story notes, the killer whale population increased by one. Sharks and seals on the other hand have experienced a large increase in population size, seals growing in population from almost zero in the 1970s to over 30,000 today in the Cape Cod, MA area. Hundreds of great white sharks have been returning to the Cape for the summer from their winter grounds farther south. Tourism officials have been expressing concern for the population explosion while there are those who celebrate the return of species from near extinction. Read More
