The Coast Guard Cutter Midgett hasn’t even been commissioned yet but has already helped a 70 year-old gentleman who was onboard his 62-foot sailboat, adrift without power. The sailboat was approximately 50 miles off Cape Hatteras when the sailor issued a call for help.
