For Safety of Whales, Panama Canal Imposes Ship Speed Limits

(gCaptain) – To coincide with seasonal migratory periods the Panama Canal has implemented a 10 knot speed limit for the safe passage of whales, dolphins and other large marine mammals. This is included in the Maritime Traffic Organization publication to increase navigation safety in converging zones and areas of high-traffic density. Read More
