In a race March 13, 2019 a crew fell overboard in Monterey Bay, CA. A mayday was issued, the boat attempted a figure-8 recovery, another boat came to assist and one of their crew fell in. He was recovered, the initial victim drowned before he was retrieved. US Sailing initiated a report which has some good recommendations to follow whether racing or cruising. Read More
