Erosion Causes Lighthouse to be Moved Over 200 Feet Inland

(BBC) – Along the northern coast of Denmark the Rubjerg Knude lighthouse is a popular tourist sight that has been perched on a sand dune for 120 years. The North Sea has eaten into the cliff leaving only a few meters to the cliff’s edge from the lighthouse. The authorities figured there was only a year or two left for the lighthouse to remain standing where it was, the move should gain it about 40 more years. Read More
