Americans Turning Off Their AIS

(NPR) – Canada has shut its border with the United States due to the coronavirus epidemic yet Americans are sailing from Washington state to British Columbia. In order to avoid detection some vessels are turning off their AIS (automatic identification system) and sailing into small villages for supplies. Canadians are concerned that the Americans are not using masks or practising social distancing and will spread the virus to locals. Read More
