Autonomous Research Vessel Launched This Week to Map the Seafloor

(wired.com) – The 72-foot long autonomous research vessel was launched this week in Alameda, CA. The carbon-fiber composite and stainless steel-hulled vessel was designed by the company Saildrone to map the ocean floor as well as identify fish and other marine organisms.
