Monitoring the Water in the Panama Canal

(gCaptain) – For the past seven years there have been unprecedented droughts that have forced the Panama Canal to restrict the depth at which ships sit. This stems from the amount of cargo the ship carries, as the more it carries the lower it sits. These droughts along with destructive storms and the growing population of Panama City demanding more drinking water is causing water problems for the canal.
