The Newport to Bermuda Race committee, working with the non-profit organization Sailors of the Sea, has initiated a new program for the 2022 bash to the Onion Patch: Designating a crew member on boats registered for the event as the onboard environmentalist. Sailors for the Sea is devoted to helping sailing events, regattas, rallies and other boating activities to be “green” events and awards certifications to events based upon environmental practices.
